The Arctic is home to:
- caribou
- wolves
- ringed and bearded seals
- bowhead whales
- narwhals
- polar bears
Many varieties of nesting birds can be seen in the area including:
- peregine falcons
- snow geese
- Canada geese
- rough-legged hawks
Tiny Arctic plants, wild berries and lichens carpet the rolling hills in July and August.
